Our Story
Our story technically started in 2016, when we met online. We chatted for a while… then life (and timing) decided to step in and say "Not yet." So we went our separate ways, grew up, lived some life, and unknowingly waited for the sequel.
That sequel arrived in August 2023.
We reconnected and met up at a local restaurant to watch the Springboks take on New Zealand. What was supposed to be a casual catch-up turned into that feeling—the one where you suddenly realize you're not done with this person at all. The game was great, the vibe was better, and from that moment on, everything just fell into place.
Since then, we've created a life we love—mostly at home. We are certified homebodies and proudly admit that we like our home a little too much to leave it. Cancelled plans? Our love language. Quiet nights in? Elite. If it involves being together at home, we're in.
On 16 December 2025, André decided it was time to make things official. With extensive planning, insider information, and a lot of help from both our moms (this was very much a family production), André popped the question. The plan worked, nobody spilled the secret, Johanné was completely surprised… and she said yes.
After years of bad timing and one very successful second attempt, we finally got it right. We can't wait to celebrate our forever with all of you—preferably somewhere nice, before we go back home.
